One of my favourite sayings is that, “Hope is not a plan”. We can hope to have greater impact in how we lead, but unfortunately that alone won’t help us to have more impact. When we are understanding and developing our impact, we start with awareness. This can be confronting, but it is here that our focus is turned to ourselves. The awareness of how we show up, how we communicate and how we lead. When we have this and we identify our strengths to leverage and our impact, we crystalise our purpose. Afterall, what’s the point of having impact if it is absent of purpose? Much like an untethered balloon, it has nowhere to go.
